Default Tires

Stock steel rims. 15x7, 6 lug.
215/75 Forterra's, current tires. Replacement time.
Can I use a slightly bigger tire?
Its a 4x4 with heavy duty frame. Not wanting super tires, just the best choice for highway and gravel roads. Its my vacation truck.
Suggestions.

With a 15 inch rim you can go with a 31x10.5x15 and that will fit nicely. Not too big or too small. A lot of good choices out there if you want an all terrain; Firestone Destination A/T, Nitto Terra Grapplers, BFG All Terrain, Copper Discoverer AT3, Toyo Open Country A/t... all good tires.

I bought the truck new, the dealership made minimal off me. I added nothing extra.
Only at 44,000 miles.
tranny parts replaced, gov pressure sensor and solenoid.
Rotors warped twice, 2nd warping I added a set of cross drilled/slotted. max 12,000 miles between warpings.
blown seal, cause of dodge over filling crankcase.
now a misfire issue.
If I was super dependant on this truck, I would have had to lose it.
Dodge really disappointed me.

Oh sorry mini rant, thanks for the tire info gents.

?'s

I do not want to lift the truck or add anything to work with the tires. The 31/10.5/15, will it require anything special to work with steering and such?
I understand that the forces/torque on the front end will be larger.

How much higher will the truck sit?
Its garage kept, but its a low ceilinged garage. I only have about 6-8 inches of clearance thru the door.

The truck has only front end ABS, will bigger tires affect the braking?
ie: Lock up the back end easier.

OH, and how do these tires perform when truck is in 4 wheel drive? Turning, ruts and the like.

The idea of any kind of rubbing bothers moi.
