Default clear coat, what can i do?

ahhh i hate my clearcoat!!! it gets worse every day. look at these pics. the day i bought it it was fine. then worse and worse. i wet sanded and sprayed with duplicolor clear coat last year but it didnt do any bit of good.

Man...that looks bad. With the clear coats as ****ty as they are, it's hard to just spray on new clear, because the damage has already been done. It would be much easier just to sand it off and put on new layers of paint and clear.

how about covering it with black duct tape?

this is the only thing that makes me mad about dodge. clear coat is an issue from the factory why didnt they recall that ****?

Haha, I think they can only recall safety issues. So I guess you get seizures looking at chipping clear coat, that wouldn't get recalled, haha.

Dodge lately makes me mad in general. Damn Dakota gets discontinued. If they dropped a Hemi in those things...they would have sold. Idk wtf Dodge is doing with their cars.

yea ive had problems with the clear too i tend to ingore it a lot now, i had the exact same thing as your last picture mine also had rust behind it like yours u gotta sand all the way down through that and take care of it before it spreads, im not gonna worry about my paint as i just bought a jon boat today that i gotta get painting on, so i got something to do for the next week

The clear on my roof was just starting to peel and bubble like that and llast summer I paid a body shop to paint just the roof, cost me $300.00 but was worth it. There was a guy on here last year that sanded, painted and shot the roof of his truck with clear at home and he posted about it, it looked great from the pics. I don't remember who it was but the truck was red. I had tried to do my own with rattle can silver and clear, yeah that didn't do so well. It looked like a$$ so I had a shop do it.
