Being the DIY type fellow I'm looking to paint my gauges. Any ideas on a color scheme that would look good with a maroon 03 dak? Also, so the needles simply lift off?

i think you need a special tool for the needles. if you have a Haynes manual its in there on how to remove them.

Really? Mine just lift off, but it's important to not push em back in too hard.

Needles just lift off, But care to explain how your going to repaint them? As I tried and made a mess of my old 1994 voyager. Couldn't see nothing at night

I am not sure what would look best. If you do it, can you post pics? My dak is the same color I think (it's called "dark garnet red") and I'd be interested in doing this too.

Upon further research I found that you use an exacto knife and scrape the needle till it's clear and see through, then buy this special tape (I'll get the name of it in a minute) that way it glows

Scratch that tape idea, kinda stupid and overly difficult, I think I'm going to use fluorescent paint, should still glow right?
