my gauges in my dakota 97 stopped working after installing new ecm but all warning ligths work fine, tried plugging the old ecm back in and the gauges worked fine. then plugged the new one back in and same problem, also the milage and trip meter blink constantly.
anybody had this problem?

Well seeing as you put in a new ECM it might have to be programmed.

 

What year is the ecm? And as ritualjman said, It may need to be programmed.

 

yes. i talked to the dealership and they told me i had to come to them to get the computer restarted.
