Default PCI Bus Location?

Where is the PCI Bus located on a 2001 Dodge Dakota SLT 4.7 V-8, Automatic 4X4? (this model came with the power windows, locks and driver seat) Don't if this matters or not.

I recently bought the overhead trip computer for my truck and am in the process of installing it. The overhead trip computer I bought was from a 2001 Dodge Durango. It also has the garage door opener feature as well. I also have the majority of the wiring harness that was already hooked up to the trip computer (had to cut/terminate the wires once I traced it down past the driver side pillar. There just wasn't any room to trace it any further). Purchased it from a junk yard.

I know things have been posted on this subject before, but I'm pretty sure it was for the years 2000 and older. I also know the wiring changed between 2000 to 2001.

I just don't understand where the PCI Bus is located. Some searches I've done say it's behind the driver side kick panel down by the floor. Other searches have said it's under the dash by the hood release (where you would plug the code reader thing in).

Ideally, I would really like to get some step by step instruction on how to wire this thing for a 2001 Dakota.

Hope I provided enough information for you folks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bruce H.

The PCI bus can be accessed from many locations.

You could try the data link connector, pin 2. It's Violet with a yellow tracer.

Thanks for the response. But is this wire (yellow/violet) the same for a 2001 Dakota??

Sounds like you have a 2000.

Thanks.

That's for the 2001.

It is different in 2000, we use a 2 wire bus.
