Default switching auto to manual trans

i just got a 02 Dakota 4x4 quad cab. its auto trans but I've always driven manual and prefer it. how much does a swap cost?? and is it worth it?

start with the TMR and sonnax mods and if that doesnt firm up shifts for you then do a swap, But i understand you are probably looking for a 5speed not necessarily firm shifts.

Yea. I just prefer 5speed. This is my first auto car.

Why buy an auto if you didn't want it? There are too many 5 speed trucks out there to really make the swap worth it.

I was going to say normally when you buy a truck they man's are usually cheaper.. but now I see why you jumped on getting the dak for 1000.

Swap is going to cost you about a grand to do. Im doing mine in aug. You cant find any 5.2 5 speeds around me unless they are wrecked and I have so much money into mine its stupid to sell it. If I can im going the route of buying a wrecked dak then I can just pick all the parts off of it. If not I have a junk yard 5 miles from me. From looking under a manual and my truck there isnt really a big difference. I plan to take a week thats taking my time and disassemble and fab everything up.
