Default 5.2 Engine swap compatibility

Good Mornin! Was wondering if anyone would happen to know if a 5.2 engine complete from a 95 Dakota would work with my 97 Dakota... my 97 has 180k on it, barely runs and I found a good deal on a 95 5.2, but since the truck bodystyle was different, I was wondering if the engine might have something different about it?

thanks in advance for any help!

take a look at the body mounts, the engines are the same so i think if you had the V6 or V8 it would almost be a direct fit, but im not 100%

ok, yea, mine's 97 5.2, and the new engine is 95 5.2 - I'm really hoping it'll just bolt right up.

Should bolt up. Just swap all your sensors and accessories to the new motor.
