Default Spark plug problem

Well Let me say this is it not so much a problem with the plugs as the heat shield around the plugs. I was changing my plugs and wires the other day, (I think they are still factory plugs which kinda scares me). When I got to number 2 cylinder the metal head shield in the block is pushed in way at the by the plug. So much so I cant get the socket over the plug (or so it seam). I have tapped the socket down on the plug and at times it feels like it is seated but then nothing happens. Anyone have any suggestions how to get this plug out?

I will try to get some pictures later.

Take a pair of channel locks and grab the heat shield, put pressure on it and twist it and pull it out. If it is bad you can get one from the dealer for a few bucks.

Rip them out and leave them out, they're not needed.

Well I got the plug out and replaced it already. But I might still go through and remove the shields. Except they wont pull out easily so I dont know yet.
