Default P0500 fault code

First off, Truck is a 5.2L v8 with 5 speed standard, I killed the rear diff about a month ago, I swapped in one out of a 2000, Which came out of a truck with a automatic. First month no problems all is good, Then I start to have park brake and ABS light on every once in a while, Now its on all the time, So I pulled it out to see if it had metal on it if diff was shot, Nope all clean. So put it back in and now I got no speedo and truck stalls everytime I push clutch in to downshift slowing down to a red light, Does this seem normal for a speed sensor fault code? Should it be stalling with it or do I have another problem?

Thanks in advance

0500 is the vss malfunction code. is it the sensor from ur diff or the new one. id try a new speed sensor back there to see if it solves your problem. just my $0.02.
