Default Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge

I've been told that I need to fit an A/F gauge to allow my truck to be tuned properly. I'm not so bothered by the fittment of the gauge, its fitting the extra O2 sensor that sucks.

I realise that the original O2 sensors aren't acurate enough for the gauge to work off them but would it be possible to fit the new, wide-band O2 sensor that comes with the gauge in the place of the original sensor and then splice the feed in to original loom? In short, the new sensor would feed the gauge AND the engine management system.

Just a thought!

That could work! I guess the fact that it will only be monitering one bank of cylinders doesn't really matter in this case.
Have you still kept your gauge in place? I don't really want one permantly, just need it for the tuning.
Its a shame the standard O2 sensors aren't good enough, I'd buy one of those Bluetooth dongles that go in the OBD2 port and download an App for my phone which would give the A/F ratio displayed on the phone. Thats why I was hoping the new sensor in the old mount could do both jobs.
I look forward to seeing the pictures of your intall.
