I have a 97 Dakota with a engine code P1764
it appears to be locked out of first gear. starts in 2nd gear.
I have read on this forum about the governor sensor and the pressure transducer.

I am planning on changing both out and servicing the transmission (filter, fluid ect)

Any thing else to check or do to make sure this fixes the problem?

I Plan on buying dealer parts, ect..

anyone have the same problem? did changing the sensors help??

to any one following.

I replaced the Gov solenoid and the transducer, filter, gasket, and so far all is good with it again!
