There is a peace of flat plastic I presume stops the air from swirling in the air hat which would cause excess turbulence. I kinda broke it off not really thinking about what I was doing.. and most hats have this and I do think this is the reason.. so its causing a little bit of restriction vs when it was stock..

ROFL.

You want to put the stick hat on and you're worried about restriction? Just get rid of the thing and hook a flex pipe with some hose clamps to it. I did and it made it sound nicer.

Honestly I do not see much of a difference from the stock air hat and the others like K&N version..

both are basically the same as far as i can tell* but have not really held one in my hand so that's an assumption.

When I'm out and doing something i want max flow.. I have a round filter.. thats the best..

I'm not a fan of so-called CAI... I like Hot Rod style Round open filters..

An air hat is designed to muffle the intake air, quieting something usually restricts it too. Just take off the hat completely and run a pipe to where ever your filter is at. Do you have any pics of your setup?

And indeed it does.. but if you pop off everything but that air had and put a filter on the end of it.. its almost as loud as the open airfilter.. just more deep sound than the holo sound effect the round filter has..

Thats the only thing I'm not too thrilled with is it sounds like something is about to blow up when you go WOT.. ROFL>. But damn it sounds like a V12 under the hood.
