Default TB questions

Will a new/ higher flow throttle body increase torque and low end power?

I have a 3.7 V6...looking for ways to increase low end power.

Also, will it increase/ decrease MPG? I know there is a guy named Dan the FAstman or something like that...anyone know how to order from him?

Fastman TB. is the company, thats who i bought mine from. it will increase throttle response, i didnt notice any loss in low end. just more responsive at lower rpms and throughout the powerband.

I found his website. $180 sounds reasonable. I think with that and the tune you told me about I should be able to get a decent amount of power. You think another 20-30 hp is a reasonable expectation from the tune and the TB?

uhhhh, probably 5hp from the TB, and since your pretty much stock, 15 from the tune at most.

Well I've got the 3.9 with a V8 TB, and as far as torque/low end, I didn't really notice a difference between the V6 and V8 TB. Like Thunder said, I noticed an increase in responsiveness throughout. Also not sure about increase or decreasing mpg, I would think it will increase but something in my system (I think an 02 sensor) is bad so that is keeping me from knowing whether I'm pulling better mpg with the V8 tb. Good luck!

EDIT: Just saw that you found one for $180. Look on ebay, I got mine for less than 50 bucks shipped I think.

Yeah only mods I have are the ebay CAI, high flow muffler, 1 heat range colder plugs and took off the clutch fan. If I got 20 hp from the TB and tune and increased low end power I would be happy. Sounds like I can accomplish both for less than $500. How much was the tune for your truck?

Since the 5.2 TB works on a 3.9...will the 4.7 TB work on my 3.7? They are basically the same engine just w/ 2 cylinders lopped off.

Yeah my TB actually came off a 5.9. I think that the 4.7 tb should work for you. But again I'm not real familiar with those engines.

Sweet. That's not bad at all. Do you know if a 4.7 tb will fit on my 3.7? I did a little research online and apparently some people say yes and some say the holes don't line up, if that's the case it's no big deal because I can drill and tap new holes.
