See what gear you are pulling out from? Try 1st and 2nd. My moms grand cherokee did this and it was pulling out from 3rd we had the 1762 code and ended up having the trans shop do the governor pressure sensor and the governor pressure solenoid for 316.00 out the door. I was told its better to do both of them while they are in there. Cause they seem to fail together and if the other one isnt bad it wont be before long till the other one goes.
It needs to be shut off and sit for a little. The grand cherokee would do this if you started it up and got on it to hard it would get stuck in first. Most of the time I solved this by shutting it off and waiting about 2-3 min then restart and take off slowly
ok i took the negative battery terminal off and put the key in the one position for 30 sec + The sevice engine light is still on but now the truck is back to sluggish start from stop like its starting in second or third gear. What should I do next. Should I replace the govenor pressure sensor and selenoid. I have called around and no one knows what these two parts are. are they called something else?
