Knowing what engine you had would help a little bit. But Cams,CAI,Exhaust,TB,Intake Mani. are always good places to start

Urban is right also a tuner will help big time. You need to specify diy stuff some people can only do simple bolt ons while others can tear apart a motor like nothing.

Ram 1500. 50 horses is pretty hard to squeeze out of a Dakota with just basic bolt on knowledge.

Well if you get about 5 of these:

and just daisy chain them to your bumper, I'm sure you could get a bout 10 per in... that would give you 50 horses added ...

JK... 50 Horses.. My thread is so gonna get deleted by the mods.. :P

This is true, I forgot about a tuner. well a CAI,Exhaust, and a Tuner would be what I consider Bolt-On or "I can't mess it up" mods and the Cams,Intake Mani, and Throttle Body is where you could use some experience.

I also heard that putting on multiple decals adds horsepower too, or at least the kid down the street believes that

ya forgot about my engine size my bad. it's a 97 318. and i'm no stranger to engines as long as theres a twelve pack invovled haha. just getting peoples input on what a ideas they had. i was personally thinking of headers, intake or modding mine, maybe some harland 1.7 rr, with cold air intake? and maybe porting and polishing the heads when i get an extra set.

Paint it red, 5 down...45 to go.
Also, decals are about 1hp each. if they are shiney, 2. whole window, 4. If you get an eyebrow, that's around 12....

Porting and polishing is a good idea but you won't see the result increase greatly until you start getting more air into the engine. They help a lot more when used with forced induction but it would definitely help for the long run. Headers will help but if your doing headers you should replace from the cat back. Otherwise your increasing your exhaust flow only to have it hit a restriction in your stock exhaust (Stock Mufller)
