Exclamation maybe

I still think you may be blowing it out as you drive I know on old cars the engine breather if it gets plugged up it can cause engine pressure and push oil out the dipstick and other places but I would think you would see that.

Because we are not there in person it can be hard to on a forum fix everything we try.

Don’t heckle us or we will ignore you.

I like the idea of the breather being plugged, I didnt even think to check it.

I am not trying to heckle anyone, I just want to hear as many opinions as possible so I can hopefully fix this and not have to take it in.

I would go with the breather check- it's unlikely, but you never know.

Post dont think you can

they are cheap I looked $4 to $7 at stores

Not sure how they are made now cleaning it may destroy it.

But if you have the nerve to put it to your mouth and blow through it that will tell you if its pluged up.

It should look like this

Well I didnt have a crap ton of time this morning but I blew into the breather via the tube and its clear. Now the PCV valve is another story. I think it is shot, now the reason I saw that is the tube going to it was clear but the plug on the intake manifold was filled with oily gunk. I used a flat head to scrap out what I could, I didnt want to spray anything in there in case it got back into the crank case and broke down the oil.

My question is how to you pull out the pcv valve, It seem stuck in there and I dont want to break the damn thing taking it out.

Smile pull it out

It has been in thier for years the rubber or nylon has hardened that is why its hard to get out. get a good grip and twist and pull it out.

Grab one of the service manuals here that will help you https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-download.html

Use this I made a small pdf of only the PCV valve here http://www.73js.com/PCV.pdf

Wink What are the Symptoms of a Bad PCV Valve

What are the Symptoms of a Bad PCV Valve http://www.agcoauto.com/content/plugins/p2_news/printarticle.php?p2_articleid=197

It is also one possible cause of expensive oil leaks and sludge buildup in an engine.

THIS IS WHY I LOVE THIS SITE!!!! I got an odd problem and people throw in their 2 cents we get headed in the right direction to fix the problem. After reading that article, which I dont know how you found it but thanks, it seems like that is the cause, with all the sludge in there it would seem that the valve has failed and wont vent properly.

Who would have thought that a $3 part could cause this problem. Although come to think of it a multi million dollar space shuttle was blow apart by 1 a bad o ring and 2 a piece of foam. So ya I should have thought it was something that stupid.
