Hey guys, I looked under my 2001 dakota rear bumper the other day. and saw there was a trailer wire harness there, but I dont see no trailer hitch... did the towring package come with a hitch? or do they consider putting a ball on the bumper good enough? I dont have no holes in the middle of the bumper just that rubber piece there under the license plate, but I can feel a hole for a ball under it. Just wondering thats all...

visit the dodge website and go to contact them and send them a email requesting your build sheet you will need your vin number for this they will email you your build sheet saying if you do or do not have a tow hitch

 

The last owner prob took it off. When I got my truck it had a brake controller in it but no hitch and no trailer wiring connectors.

 

i know if it has a tow package you will have a plug under the driver side dash that you use to plug in a electric brake system. if you don't have the factory plugs in your harness you don't have a factory tow package.

Do you have the 7 pin connector or just a harness?

The tow package includes a receiver style hitch.
