Default Flushed Radiator now getting a P301 code for cynl 1 misfire..

did i somehow screw myself and blow my head gasket.. since its nighttime i cant check the oil but i did notice a sweet smell or like burning smell coming from truck.. sorta of like a converter smell.. i used Peak flush followed instructions.. the only thing i can think of is i let the truck idle with heater on with flush and water in it with cap off to try let air bubbles out .. my only daily driver vechicle while unemployed.. wow im so screwed.. worse off my wifes car has a wheel hub going out on her 06 cobalt.. perfect time to get injured on the job thrills..

got any ideas.. ill prolly tow it to local ex dodge dealer on monday but should i just check for antifreeze in oil dipstick and if i have 118,547 miles on truck if it is HG.. is it worth getting a rebuilt motor.. which oddly id have to get a loan for if i can or just say adios to my fav vechicle.. ?

Im sure your fine there is prob anti freez on your engine and exhaust. If its on the engine you will get a smell for a week or more it seems to really get into the casting of the block. When you were flushing your system you prob got some wires wet and its throwing a code. I would wait to see if it dries out.

Smile same here

I don’t think you have a serious problem like dodgeramguy85 said just wet wires check your cap and rotor let it all dry out and things will be fine.

Probably just splashed some of the Peak flush on the engine or exhaust system and needs to burn off.

99% of headgaskets that fail on the 4.7 daks, happen to the passenger side

Maybe its time for a tuneup thats all, how old are your plugs pull them out and check them could be one is gunked up or you need new plugs.

If your head gasket blew I think you will see oil in the radiator.

Maybe you just need to get on the freeway for an hour and burn things out to much city driving dose that to my city truck.

just spoke with local mechanic whose working on my dak.. they swapped the plug s from cyl 2 to 1 and it ran ok then misfired again popping out error code 301.. they think its a tuneup.. they will do one then call me back.. then the new radiator hose i installed is leaking.. that crappy plstic filler part that u have to cut your upper hose to install.. yay me.. will keep ya updated.. they said compression was good but said they havent really did a compression check since whatever else they were doing said it felt fine.. i spoke to a buddy of mine whom helps me with my DAK.. he told me its been 2 1/2 yrs since i changed plugs.. ive never changed the coils.. me wonders if i should have or has anyone else had a coil go bad ?

ill know more after lunch from the ex dodge dealer..

Wink sounds like

Sounds like you may have a bad sparkplug wire or its not seated in the cap or sparkplug how old are the wires?

If only one plug is tossing a code I would say cap, rotor, wires or sparkplug.

Maybe the coil but we will see.
