Default posi rear end?

I currently have an open diff with a 3.92. How difficult would it be to make it a posi and which gears are best?

well its go to run you about 4-500 for an auburn lsd or yukon what ever brand you choose. and its going to be cheaper to go a head and get gears done at the same time, 4.10 or 4.56. the install is going to be about 800ish. gears 150ish and bearing kit runs another 100.

That doesn't sound too bad. How difficult is it to do my self. I'm pretty handy and learn quick. Which would be better 4.10 or 4.56? I'm still new to gearing, but eager to learn. Thanks for all the help.

I think you need to take it to a shop to do it, since it has to be set in to a specific measurement since you're putting in a whole new carrier.

yeah, setting backlash and those shims is that makes or break an install.

If you are a 4wd then you need matching gears both front and rear.

It's a 2wd so I don't have to worry about that. Also, do you guys know which transmission I have? I've got a 00 dak sport 2wd with the 2.5 in it.
