Default Blew motor finally...

i found a new one, question is...
it's a 4.7 out of an 06 Ram, Tranny included as well as the computer and all electronics...mine is an 01 with 4.7, is it going to fit directly in place as my 4.7 setup did and what all would i have to change? hoping the trans isn't longer or anything like that.

not a direct swap, you need to swap out crank tone rings, which is a big job. better to find one with a JTEC pcm if you can stay away from ngc.

It needed a valve job that I didn't get to in time cuz of work, so I think it busted and threw a rod...metal in oil and water so it's a goner. The new motor came from am 06 ram and is same as mine and has everything with it including computer and trans...

you need to swap tone rings or it wont start. well maybe not if you swap the computer. but why make more work for your self.
