Default Rotors or something else

First off
2001 Quad Cab
4.7 4X4

I have just done the Rotors and pads and when doing it I did notice that after I push the caliper piston back in then tended to come back out. It was difficult to get the piston to go back, one side more than the other.

The one side tended to come back out quicker making it hard to load the pads and get it back on the rotor.

They seemed to work great for 2 weeks but I only drove about 30 minutes in and direction.

So now I go on a small drive about 1 hour or more and now I notice that my rotors are smoking and a smell of burnt pads they are locking up, and after about 2 hours they work ok after the heat is gone.

I was able to get home but did not use the brakes to much.

So is it he rotors are seizing do to there age 218000 kms which is what i am thinking or is it something else?

Wink binding rotors yes

Im not sure what actualy causes that but what fixed it for me was use a C clamp to pull in the caliper piston then everything was fine they just get stuck sometimes.

Remember when you get back in to press the pedel in a few times to reseat the brakes or you will have no brakes the first time because the piston is pushed in.

I was told your flex brake lines can cause that to happen. They just get stuck at times.

Adjusting the back brakes can cause this to happen also so adjust the back then C clamp the calipers to unstick them.

Sounds like your calipers are worn out replace them.
