Default rear brake question part right above differential

today as i was driving i lost my rear brakes.

right about the rear differential there are three brake lines ( i think ill double check in the day) connected to some sort of valve.

one of the lines is broken where its connected to that brass valve.

so my question is do i need to replace that brass valve along with the brake line?

and if i do what is the name of that part? i have spent a couple hours looking for it. i think i might be a metering valve?

This is really just a splitter...
No, you do not need to replace it. Just get a new line, or, make your own. they have pre-fabbed lengths, or you can get your own steel tube, and make your own. This involves crimping the ends to make the flares. Not a tool everyone has, but prob can be rented from an Autozone or had for a few bucks.

Remember to bleed your brakes well after! The rears that is...front should be ok, unless your master cylinder drains over night...which it shouldnt.

Wink spliter part of flex line

I just replaced that part its actually part of the flex line so if you’re replacing the broken line maybe replacing the flex line is a good idea also, they are only $15

Just remember to disengage the parking brake to replace the flex line its under pressure while the parking brake is on

98DAKAZ thanks for the help man.

so what happened, there was a hole in my tail pipe where it let out really hot exhaust and it melted the wiring around there and made the brake line fail. its been like this for some time.

but can you help with one more thing, since all the connectors got melted to the abs sensor on the differential. now that i have a new sensor i need to know to which wire goes to which pin on the sensor.

it only has two pins and there is a red wire and a white one.

i dont want to wire it wrong and screw something up

on clearing the codes I think places like autozone will do it free for you or other auto places call around and find out.

So its finished repaired?

Default camera at Wal-Mart cheap

Go to Wal-Mart and get a cheap camera about $45 I think.

Please do a final post it’s amazing how many people come ask for help then never hear from them again so we never know how things turned out.

Feedback is a good thing we like to know if we help people with their problems.
