Today I heard a gurgling kind of popping noise coming from my gas tank is this a precursor to my fuel pump going out or what?

I have never heard this before that I can remember?

It's got gas.

Where do you hear these sounds? By the filler or under the truck? How full is the tank?

As the gas heats up it expands. Maybe it's coming from the evap system.

Question By the filler or under the truck yes

I had just parked the truck got out and gurgle gurgle pop pop is what I hear going on it was weird like a hot water heater running after someone used a lot of hot water that kind of sound it was loud also kind of freaky.

Kind of sounded like the gas in the tank was boiling

Half tank of gas

So the truck wasn't running when you heard this noise?

I'm thinking that there is a problem with the vent. Try popping the gas cap, slowly, and see if the noise stops.

Exclamation This morning its ok

Yes I had stopped and shut down the truck

This morning I drove to the store about a 15 minute drive came back nothing no strange noise I guess it was a one-time thing.

Doesn’t the gas system have a fume removal system with a charcoal canister in it maybe I need a new canister for the system or its getting clogged?

Very odd

Default Maybe all the work I have done on my truck is it

Maybe all the work I have done on my truck is it

I just replaced my valve cover as you know and now its sealed real good I installed a new breather tube valve cover grommet and CCV connector that comes off the valve cover so now the valve cover system is working like new again and I have replaced all my emission systems rubber tubing all of it with new fresh tubing so it’s like new also I replaced the throttle body from the 2.5L to the 4.0L

So maybe the system is adjusting to the changes it’s all new and tight?
