I REALLY want to lift my 2003 Dakota. Only problem is I want a suspension lift. I've searched for about a week now and couldn't find anything. Do you guys know of anything new that has come out for my truck? I don't really want a body lift. I'm not really sure how much I trust them.

 

Whats wrong with a body lift? They only raise the body a few inches. It's not like your going to jack the body off the frame 12 inches or anything.

 

And body lifts are only like $300. . . . . . . .

Will my bumpers have a gap though? With a body lift? Could someone post a pic of their truck with a 3 in kit?

 

I got 2 inch V6 lift coils off ebay and 2 inch DROP shackles for the back. The drop shackles actually lift a 2wd. Now as she sits, it's 2 inches higher than stock. I think it looks great, and was fairly easy to do. I can try and post some pics if you would like.

 

If your leaf springs are above your axle, you need to use shorter shackles like the chevy drop brackets on summitracing.com, think it's like Belltech 6400. If the leaf springs are below your axle, need to relocate so they're ontop.

Front, crank torsion bars. Same for all models.

Body lift doesn't leave a gap in the bumpers since most kits will have brackets that will allow you to move it up in accordance to the rest of the body. No point in doing a body lift unless you've already lifted up your suspension, will look goofy as ****.

 

You aren't supposed to do both though. Well recommended you don't. My 2wd doesn't have torsion bars

 

you should really just slam your dakota since you are 2wd. but i cant talk, b.c i lowered a 4x4.
