Default Thud/pop in steering column when braking.

Trying to figure what's causing it. Brakes have been checked and control arm bushings are new. When ever i stop i'll feel a slight pop in steering column. Sway-bar links and bushings are new. Not sure what to do. Might try greasing steering column under hood to see.

Default same here but not loud knid of a soft thud

same here but not loud kind of a soft thud still not sure what is going on but I think it may be the steering shaft because I feel it in my steering wheel just a weak thud or pop I don’t think it’s a big problem just an irritation but it happens as I brake more than just steering.

I’m also thinking it’s just the brakes thudding in the calipers the steel springs holding the pad in has gone week and allowing the pad to move every time I brake but the pads have many miles to go before I replace them still thick.

My driveshaft Ujoints are solid

Default Hmm.

My calipers are new, new pads. Filed down the deep spots on the bracket so pads slide freely now and it still does it. Someone said where the steering shaft has the zip tie and something covering it that you need to grease down in it or take it off and grease to stop the thud. Will try that tomorrow but now it just did it when i was backing up with wheel turned all the way left.. was like control arm or something popped. Tried to do it again but it won't lol.

Default Posted wrong link.

Will try to find correct link. Found one that talked about just greasing or replacing due to age and it showed dakotas. Had really good walk-through. I cleared my history so i'll try to find it again lol.

Default Grease the steering shaft.. will drive later.

Hoping the pop is lessened. Couldn't find the post about it but I will leave it alone if it is nothing serious.
