if your worried aout the weight being put on the tailgate just think of this, im 400 pounds and sit on my tailgate a lot and it holds me just fine, i on the other hand have a first gen but dont think it would matter.

I put my bmw k1200s (86" long) in mine I have an extended cab with a coffin tool box bike is 500 lbs rear tire sets on gate plus when loading all the weight is on the end of the tailgate don't know if you need a ramp but 4 Wheel parts sells a Lund ramp that folds in half and is 11' long I know at some point I have overloaded tailgate but it is not tweaked I think I have had two bikes in it but it is defiantly a tight fit.

Alright thanks guys, I dont think its the tailgate im worried about, its the length. But we will see. Im ready to get it and be done with it though
