Something's definitely wrong. Start with the basics. Check or replace: spark plugs and wires, vacuum lines, maybe a fuel filter, cold be an O2 sensor, Maf sensor, Map sensor.... Ya know all the basics. haha

wrong tires? changed rear end gear? if those two are off you will will still be able to calculate mpg, it wil be wrong. sounds like the trouble iam having. but best not bore you about my trouble here. you may not know but these trucks do not use a gear on the transmission rear shaft. they have notched plate bolted to the ring gear. the notched plate sends a signal to the computer, that spins the speedometer . i have talked to half a dozen people, but iam not sure what to think.

Id go with the first response you got... Is your check engine light on? proper tire inflation... etc etc...

Yeah I'm getting about 12-13 now, but I've got 31 inch tires and drive usually with a heavy right foot. Plus it's cold now. What size tire are you running? Also, is your Dak 4x4 or not?
