Strange thing this morning
I recently purchased the truck. 3.9 4x4 quad cab. Strange thing I noticed this morning. It was pouring outside and everytime I would go to turn right I would get the back right tire to spin. I was barely pushing on the gas and my tires are 90% so there is no reason for this. Any have this before?

Sounds like a typical Dakota to me; at least I know my 318 has big problem with this; these trucks are light in their *** end and really do not bite all that well. Mine decreased when i got these GoodYear Duratrac's but it still can happen if i give it gas..
My old 'street' tires i could cause the truck to really fish tell and feel like its gonna loose control with them.. even with the slightest touch of the peddle.
Just throwing it out there.

well most trucks
I think it’s a truck problem not just the Dakota as you say very little weight on the back wheels = slipping back wheels on wet roads or icy roads.
Now if you have some weight on those back tires then you get traction you could toss in a few sand bags on rainy or icy road conditions that would help with traction.
I had a scary situation last year was leaving a store in a neighborhood I didn’t know and as you exit you need to go up a steep hill and well it had rained and I got half way up the hill when I lost traction when some jerk darted out at me I had to brake for this jerk my truck just lost all traction luck me I only slid a few feet back down the hill till I got my traction back I had to pulse my acceleration and steer the truck sideways a bit to gain the traction I needed I was a bit freaked.
I almost lost it that time I was ready to try and turn my truck and go down the hill and see if that got me out of the situation because then the weight would of been on my front end were the weight was the best for traction other than me and the Jerk the street was emty.

California and AZ
Back a number of years ago both CA and AZ changed how they resurface tar based roads what they use now makes wet roads slippery when wet probably it saves them $$ but makes the roads not as safe in the rain.
New or old it has to do with the rubber used in making them and the type of thred on them and as I said if you have any kind of load it helps get you better traction.
