No when you order a new car most times they have a option to upgrade lights which are hid's most higher end vehicles come stock with them. I have headlight and fogs with Hid's

Many areas consider HIDs illegal if they are installed in Hallogen style reflectors. Make sure you get a DOT approved HID enclosure w/ your HID lights.

Most cops wont even care about hid's with all the new vehicles out there today using them, its just a waste of time for cops to check. Too much riding behind it like saying ok if they catch you speeding they know 100% you were speeding for a fact but with lights they dont know if they are factory or aftermarket let alone dot approved housings or not. Its easier just to let it slide and stick to the bigger things.

Very true... If there was ever an accident due to glare though, your goose would be cooked.

Where it becomes an issue is when you have the idiots with the bright @$$ purple HID's. Its the odd colors that throw it out. Red, purple, green, yellow...headlights have to be a shade of white.
