Fuel pump/filter?
Was it in or around the freezing point outside when you started your trip back to school? I only ask because I know it gets cold in VT before most of the states south of. I had a similar-sounding situation a while back; I thought my transmission was crapping-out on me during the winter of 2002 (a crazy winter…for Philadelphia) but it turned out that I had a ridiculous amount of ice/ice crystals forming in the gas in my gas tank; I had filled-up my tank the morning before this occurred. I had been working a drywall job for a mechanic that day and, luckily for me, he looked at it and figured it out. Half-hour later I was on the road like nothing ever happened.
@roscoe2000 has a really good point; before going ahead and opening up the fuel pump system or dropping cash to have someone even look at it, try some of that Heet Gas-line Antifreeze stuff. It worked out GREAT for me, hopefully it will for you. If it doesn’t – you’re only out $1.50 (including tax). It’s worth a shot although, I’m sure that fuel anti-freeze stuff is a stable up in your area.
Hope that helps out but if not, I hope what’s going on isn’t anything serious/expensive.
Best of luck!

It's not the gas because my father got gas from the same station, same pump as I did on the same day and he has had no problems.
It was 40-45 degrees when this started taking place so cold weather wasn't a factor.
Once I home for the semester break, I'll run a can of dry gas through and see if it helps. It's an easy/cheap fix to start with. I'm not too worried about driving back and forth to work, I just didn't want to make the 230 mile drive up to Vermont where to exits are 10-15 miles apart...
