On todo's
Do tranny fluid, filter and ADJUST the bands.
Clean the Idle air control valve located on the back of the throttle body.
I just picked up Dak #6, a 2000 3.9 auto 4wd reg cab that has 163,000 on it, $2K A bad water pump in it's past did not help the engine. I have some oil in the antifreeze but no antifreeze in the oil. Leaky water pump, bad fan clutch are common culprits, if the PO didn't shut down immediately the engine over heats and warps a head. Typical upper Midwest rust is showing up everywhere, it will look like shmidt come spring. This truck was a gentleman's express, I get to do the beating up, I run em hard on nasty chores for a year or two and then get rid of em. Amazing how much firewood can be stacked into a short box. I are older so the box holds about as much work as I want to do in one day! Good luck wit yer truck
