I zipped tied to the three pillars in the lower valance and on the ends I linked zip ties together and anchored them further in. I dont remember to what though.

I left my grill inserts external without any cutting of the factory body.

I also cut a notch large enough for my finger in the top grill insert for the hood latch opening.

I ran a cable/wire down so that way there wouldnt be a hole in my insert.
Could you post a picture or two of your lower valence so that way i can kind of get an idea. I need to do the bottom to get the front end looking right.

I forget exactly how I did it but I welded brackets in, then forced the gutter guard between them and the bumper, then half assed tacked the gutter guard to the brackets.

You're welcome! I think smoked would look good on your truck. I never get flashed. Even back when they were in my stock housings I only got flashed a few times in a year that I had them. Hid's are way better than any halogen bulb. I could barely drive with low beams on before cause they sucked. With my hid's I sometimes dont even use my high's cause my lows are bright enough.

Time 2 Merc,

Sorry, I dont have pictures to take. I totalled my 1999 Dakota back in 2002....
Becareful taking it to a garage, they pulled out and bent the insert because they didnt know enough to look for the hood latch extension. Thats how i ended up cutting an access hole..

Haven't done anything to 2000 Dakota that I have now...
