I want your honest opinion; on this MAP sensor; I know someone posted this before on the $18 Map sensor on Ebay; It looks like an "OEM" Brand but they are saying it is a TAPCO and say of course it's not an OEM part.

Sounds too good to be true anyone get one of these and can you tell me what the experience is.

"When its too good to be true it probably is" I wonder about the actual calibration if I would better off just buying a BWD or Standard Products instead this one..

 

You know what worked great for me but I have the 2.5L engine was I grabbed the larger throttle body from a jeep it’s just like the one on my truck even same MAP sensor TPS and the other one for idle for only $50 bucks so I got three sensors and the throttle body at a great price for a used unit.

Something to think about grab a used throttle body that has all the sensors on it.

 

I seen one in the Junk yard on a V6; but I want to put a new one on.. just to see if it makes a difference at all; kinda part of my "Tune" up..

They have Standard there for 19.00; same brand Rock Auto sells. I seen one that had "LifeTime" warranty on it too.. ROFL.

 

Cheap Ebay parts are cheap for a reason. The OEM brand is cheap-made Chinese garbage. With something like a MAP, TPS, IAC or ignition parts it is best to use a good name brand quality part, preferably made in the USA if at all possible. I bought my new MAP sensor at Autozone. If I remember it right, it is the Wells brand. I do remember it cost $66.00 but it has been on my truck now for over 50,000 miles and is still doing just fine. OEM brand and other cheap made parts are no good.

The Standard and the Wells look identical; and from what I have found online they are the exact same quality to each other and of 'house brands' like dura crap; after all; duracrap is made by one of these companies depending on the part.. lol..

Standard (Non T ) is 20 on ebay; 50 on Rock auto.

 

I bought the same one and honestly I can't complain. I did keep the old one just incase though.

 

+1 there.. I keep all my old parts; even if they are considered bad but still work..

Like when I got no fire condition; I threw my old coil on once i had the old fuel out; and fired right up.. old coil burned out apparently bc the computer told it to increase voltage due to no fire condition.. I suppose.

 

Yes I buy off ebay all the time cause im cheap like that lol. One thing I wont buy is sensors they effect so much on your truck so I will just spend a little extra on it. Not everything is bad on there. 63.00 hub bearing that I was told I wouldnt get anymore than 10k out of. 25,000 miles later still tight and I saved 100.00!!!

Always keep your old parts as a backup with this out of control economy and how the Euro may collapse in the coming year we could end up in a second dark age.

I’m buying backups of critical parts

Be positive prepare for trouble

 

Damn Strait; and you know; 20 bucks is not alot to be out of.. if it craps out.. I have my old one anyways..
