Default Dakota Speaker Size

Hey all, have been wundering around the site, as well as the internet trying to find the size of a dakota's (extended cab) front door speakers and rear speakers. So far I've found answers ranging from 5 1/4" to 6 3/4" for the front and the same for the back. What is the proper size for both? I need to replace mine because they are blown. Thanks!

Yes 6.5/6.75.. You will need adapters; dont go with the cheap plastic ones; get quality ones or make them your self out of ply wood..

I am going to be replacing my speakers as well (given that the headliner and other interior parts are currently out). I've been looking at some of the options and keep in mind that there are some pretty good aftermarket, 6.75" options:

These, for example: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-D17...075022&sr=1-12

You have almost 7 inches to work with but it's advertised as 6.5

If your running them off the stock head unit; or aftermarket head unit and have no plans on adding an amp.. I would go with these..

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...ate-R1653.html

Price is much cheaper and RF even in their Prime series will sound much better..

These are great for low powered as well; used to have them in my front doors off the stock head unit and sounded very good..

Boston will slap pioneer silly.

Or if your running or will be running an Amp;

I have these in my truck currently and are awesome

or My fav...

Keep in mind these are 2ohm..

Sonic Electronix is a great place to shop; I've bought quite a few products from them..

----

But if i had it to do over again I would have done some cutting and modding in my rear and put some 6x9's there is plenty of room and can mount from the outside with the covers to make it look good..

Here is a thread I posted last week when I replaced the speakers in my truck:

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...with-pics.html

I bought my Kicker speakers from Crutchfield. They sent me two sets of speaker adapter plates and wire harness connectors to connect the new speakers to the factory speaker wire plugs. Crutchfield sends the speaker plates and wire harnesses for free when you buy from them. If you need these speaker plates and/or the harnesses shoot me a PM with your name and address and I will mail them to you. You can have them for free. I don't need them, I made my own speaker adapter plates and ran my own speaker wires when I installed my system. If you want the parts though, you can have them.

I used to use Crutchfield.. back when I was a kid; and I sometimes still do; if there is a particular thing I'm looking at buying and the freebies equals the same cost I'm paying for the item vs buying the freebies plus the discount on the product.

Sonic has started including for most vehicles free install bracket and wire harness like CrutchField does.. on head units; so that's one less thing I go there for; I really price shop; plus Sonic price matches; Crutchfield doesnt.

Compare the prices between the two; including the other items like mounting and wiring. but then again I dont use stock wires as I've fully upgraded to amps and everything to get the most Sound quality so thats one less thing for me to worry about.
