I've looked around trying to find an answer to this problem, seems like I notice it more first thing when the engine and tranny are cold, mostly on de-celeration, the trans make a whining noise. This 2000 Dakota 3.9 has 175,000miles, been doin it for a short time now. Other then the whine it seems to be working fine. What could it be? Trans fluid is clean.
Our trannys are... Well grannys and it might be getting worn. Drain the fluid, replace it and add Lucas oil's trannsmission treatment Addititive. That may help out
