I got it figured out if im getting a new truck its gonna be a 98-01 ram 2500 5 speed cummins. I already made one mistake getting this dakota which isnt what I really wanted to begin with. Gonna talke with a few tranny guys to see if this 5 speed is gonna be worth it. If not a junk yard tranny is going in and its going bye. As much work I have put into this truck its a shame but im not paying 2k for another rebuilt auto just to have it do the same thing down the road.

 

so a work horse big powerful roomy truck is what you need no fooling around you want big.

 

Pretty much. Im Tired of packing my tuck full when I spend the weekend at camp. No one can ever sit in the back of my truck. 2nd gen rams have straight front axles so no ifs bull ****. Way easier to lift. Downside is diesel price but upside is like 18mpg average so paying 3.89 for diesel isnt a big deal.

 

Further inspection shows burnt black fluid. 3rd barely engages. Truck is still driveable just need to run 2nd gear between 25 and 40. Once I get a good speed it will go into 4th. My dad bought a new toy last week so im gonna see if I can steal his jeep for a few weeks.

He never even told me haha. He just randomly came out and told me. I told him he needed to get his house garage in order so he can park his vehicles in there and he said yeah I need to now that I have a new one sitting in there. I was like what!!! He said I broke down and bought a new challenger instead of a ram hahaha

I so wish I could!! He knows me I would have no tires left on it lol He got a great deal at it. One of the local dealers had 12's coming in but this 11 had been sitting on the lot for a month and it was the last one left. Its fully loaded too.

 

That's awesome. But yeah go cummins or go home. That's what I'm planning on in the future.
