Default Leak in the Tranny???

I have a 04 Quad Cab 4.7 95k 4x4 (45RFE tranny) that seems to be acting the slightest bit weird. I have had hard jolts occurring when shifting mainly from park to reverse but it does not happen all of the time. Just the other day the tranny decided to throw 3 codes; P0700, P0731, and P0876 quickly after startup after being parked nose down on a hill all night. The fluid is new as of Thanksgiving as well as the filter, and the old fluid appeared fine when I removed it. The problem has not been any different before or after the fluid change. The one thing that seems odd to me although I may be mistaken is that if I check the fluid level when the truck has had time to cool down on level ground, the fluid is almost an inch above the hot mark on the dip stick, however when I check the fluid when the engine is running the level goes back to where it should be. Does this mean that a valve is sticking open that shouldn't be or indicate a different problem? I am thinking of taking the truck to a tranny shop but would like to avoid it if possible and fix it myself.
