Question Performance Chips

So i have a 98 dakota with a 3.9L v6 and was wondering what people thought about chips. Are they worth it? will i notice a difference in power and fuel economy? For people who have or had them what do they think of them?

I've had Superchips on mine and it's been great. I originally bought it to adjust the speedo due to a change in tire size but came to love the extra power. I choose the "performance" option that required premium. Not sure what impact it had on the fuel economy.

I run a sct tuner on my 5.2 and I was very happy with it! I run the 93 tune and 89 gas. I find that is my best for mpg/performance. I wouldnt go any other route.

Question

okay if you were to buy one what brand would you get? and r the $90 just as good as the $400 as long as you don't need a speedometer calibration and that other stuff?

I never saw a tuner for 90.00 not one that worked. Dont buy those jet chips either the computer will relearn its stock setting and all you have is a 150.00 paper weight.

looks like 1 of those resistors that go across your iat or maf and fool the computer into dumping in more gas because it sees a cold intake air temp. check it out by asking how it hooks up. others will probably back me up but i'm quite sure no programmer can give you 75 hp without a turbo, etc.

Don't buy jet chips. I did and they don't work!
