hay guys my transfercase started poping really loud the other day. im sure its not the front diff. i havent took it out to see whats wrong with it i just want to replace it. i found the same year at a local u pull it but its a 3.9. its got a 231 in it but mines a 231 h.d is there any way i could swap it in. i could get it for 75 bucks!! thanks guys

 

ok does any one know what kinda auto tranny came in the 3.9 dak?

I don't remember what tranny I have in mine but when my transfer case blew itself in half I did some looking and saw that the 231 hd was compatible with mine, also some people have used the transfer cases from jeep Cherokees. I will look tomorrow or later tonight to see what tranny I have in mine

 

thanks man. i just wanna make sure the input shaft is the same.

 

also i found out the donor truck truck has 3.90 gears so im thinkin about swapping those to. maybe its even got a factory locker

 

just a update i swaped in the t case from the v6 truck. i did have to change the tail housen from the old one to the new onw tho cuz of a speed sensor
