will new plugs, wires, coil increase HP or is it all a bunch of BS?

The aftermarket guys may choke, but unless you've made substantial mods to your engine: high compression, high rev cam, blower etc. new wire, coils, etc. will make a difference only if the old ones are bad. And, the original stuff is pretty good; it must enable the vehicle to meet EPA regs for many, many miles.

an msd ignition box will creat a more effective spark especially at higher rpm's, but will it increase hp... no, well atleast not directly. The increased spark will create fuller combustion of your fuel which will inturn make the engine more efficent. a more efficent engine will have more hp. but its not really a seat of the pants type of thing. I dont really suggest spending the money on a msd unless you have mods like exhaust, intake, head work, cam... stuff like that, then it will help the engine benefit from those mods.
