4.7 spark plug recommendaction
+1. Yup, can't just change the fuel filter. In order to change the filter the entire pump needs to be replaced. This isn't the old days anymore. Things are a lot different. Tune ups aren't really like they used to be. On a 4.7 there isn't much to do other than change the plugs and clean your air filter, maybe clean the throttle body... No need to replace coils unless they're bad, can't do fuel filters, there's really nothing to grease on the chassis/suspension unless you've replaced parts with greaseable ones.

And I clean my throttle body. It was caked with oil blow by.
And changing of the plugs was a bitch, seven of the coils were hard to remove, and the coil on cylinder 3 broke off in the head. Spent 45 minutes cussing and trying to get it out. Then had to buy a new coil. And 7 of my plugs had been changed in the past. The plug on cylinder 3 was the original champion plug and had no tip left on it.
After all that my truck seems to run like a new now, idles better and much smoother. And doesn't puff black smoke like it did before the 02 change.
Now I'll have to put some miles on it and check the mileage.
Me too. So far it is lookin like my mileage has already pick up. It just came off the full mark and I'm at 45 miles on my trip. Before I was getting 12 miles when I got below the full mark.
