Exclamation half of my gauge lights are out.

i have an 04, 4.7 4x4, no interior mods beside electric start. but ive had the problem for some time now. the lights on the far right and left of my gauge cluster are out the center one still works, and the left side of my ac controller unit as well. once in a long while i might have the ac contoller light up again on its own but it will go out next time i uses the truck. any ideas on what it could be because i feel its a common fault with Dakotas because its not a fuse or the dimmer switch(that's what think haven't checked).

go ahead and change the bulbs out to LEDs. Its not the switch if some of the lights turned on. I just switched all of mine to LED, so much brighter, nicer, and it all cost about $30

No, being that its intermittent sounds like a harness came loose. Check the ground strap on the passenger side kick panel for any type of corrosion.
