It would have to be from the same truck with all the same options power locks,windows and so on. Your keyless entry would need reprogrammed at the dealer for it to work
Ya I would look for as close to your truck as possible. I know in that link I gave you ^^^ that guy used one from an 01 on his 02. But to avoid any problems Id try to match your truck.
+1 on reprogramming factory key-fobs, if your using fobs from a remote start system those should be fine though.
