i looked before posting but couldnt find this answered although i am certain it probably is here.

i have a 2000 4.7 Quad 4x4 and whenever my air is on in the truck whether cold or hot i hear a repetitive noise that sounds like something kicking on and then off and then 20 secs later it does it again and does not stop until i turn the air off all completely.

any thoughts?

more than likely its your a/c compressor kicking on. if your in the defrost position, it kicks on the a/c. or if your a/c button is pushed as well.

 

i have a air conditioning position but not a button. if i have it set to blow just out of the main top vents and not defrost and it is set to hot it still kicks on and off and on and off.

the only time i dont hear that sound is when the air whether ac or heat is off.

i appreciate the help
