Post Tranny Control Solenoid

Hey Guys, got a 2001, 4.7 Auto 4X4 QC.

Truck was sending a P0700 which the Tranny shop said was the Control Solenoid is going bad. But they want like $700 to fix it.

I have seen the part at RockAuto for $95 how hard is it to change and do you have any pics of this or what to watch out for. I have read that you have to remove the Valve Body? If so are there bearing or springs that you need to watch for. I am willing to do this myself just not really sure what to look for when it comes to the Valve Body.

Thanks
Guys

Oops it is the Tranny Solenoid Pack and not the Control Solenoid.

What is the truck doing? Our 04 grand cherokee needed a governor pressure solenoid but the tranny place told me to also replace the shift solenoid while they were in there. It was done in a couple hours for 265.00 couldnt pass that up for labor and fluid. I dont think you need to drop the valve body but I could be wrong since you are a 545rfe. The jeep is a 42re. I would call a different tranny place and get another quote. If they come up with the same price tell them that seems expensive and ask them what they have to do to get to it.

They said that the Solenoid Pack is above the valve body but I can't even fine one for sale or if there is a rebuild you can buy?

It was taking a while for it to have the torque converter to lock up, but guys said that can take some time for the oil temp to rise, but this time it went into limp mode and kicked out the P0700 code and the tranny shop said it was either a ball that can stick but once they inspected the tranny with the pan off he said it was the solenoid pack.

Now the truck runs fine and may run fine for a while but if I can fix it I should.
