Default 44RE band adjustment instructions? Master tech?

I am hoping someone or Master tech can post the factory 44RE band adjustment procedure for my '97 Dakota. I will be dropping the pan this spring and the bands have never been adjusted. I am close to 100,000 miles, no apparent problems with shifting that I can tell. I have changed the fluid a couple of times previously. Seems like the info I found had different back off rates after torquing to 72 in pounds. That is what is confusing me. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks all.

I did mine yesterday. Front band (on outside of case) tighten to 72 in-lb and back off 2 1/4 turns. Rear band (inside of pan) tighten to 72 in-lb and back off 4 turns.

Thanks Keg97, I was seeing 2 7/8 turns back for the front and 3-4 turns for the rear.

I am not having problems and don't want to create any when I service my tranny. Did the adjustments help yours?

I was not having problems either, but the adjustment and new filter and fluid seemed to make it shift a little better. According to records when I purchased the truck the service was done every 35,000 miles, so I wanted to continue that.

Are your settings from the factory manual?
