No Compression in brand new motor

You can't test compression by hand. The engine needs to be spinning, fast. The rings will seal enough for you to start, even a badly worn engine will usually start with horrible compression just not make much power.

If the marks are on then you're good for cam timing. The 5.9 is an easy engine to set, not like the 4.7. There is no way for you to have it 180 degrees out, think about it. The cam shaft rotates 1/2 as fast as the crank.

I just did a timing kit in my 4.7 and it is a pain...
