Default wheels/tires/random ?s about my 04 qc 4x4

i searched but could not find anything definitive...

bought an 04 quadcab 4x4 two weeks ago and want to upgrade wheels/tires.

stockers are 16s, does anybody know if i can drop to 15s (brake hardware does look like a bit of a tight fit) but 15s seem to open up the possibilities of tires quite a bit.

which brings me to tires...can i run 31 inch without a lift?

has anybody done this...does it rub and how wide are your tires?

ive heard you can crank the torsion bars to get a little bit of extra height...is this true and is it harmful to the stock suspension???

anybody know if i could replace the flat rear window with a slider, or power slider and where that can be purchased?

also does anybody know where i can get non-factory tinted rear windows without getting killed on price?

can true duals be run on my truck (4.7L)?? i noticed the headers combine into 1 tailpipe?

sorry for the rambling...it started out as a wheel/tire post haha

thanks,

bobby

no your truck would be way out of line (abs and speed o would be off for one) with 15's.rule of thumb is to go up not down in size, its is possible to crank the torsion bars up but that wouldn't be the best way to go. 33's i thin would fit but i would have to look into it as i would not go much bigger then 2 sizes.

Go ahead and ignore that.

I put a set of OEM 15" alloys from a buddy's '99 Dakota on my 02 QC 4x4 with the 5.9 - I know in 03 they switched over to rear disc brakes, but I don't think they're bigger than the fronts. If you're going for an aftermarket wheel, I suggest buying locally and have them bolt up an unmounted wheel to check it before you buy it.

The optional factory tire size is 265/70r16, which is exactly the same size as a 31x10.5x15, so that's what I put on mine. The nice thing about 15" tires is that they'll save you almost $200 on a set of tires if you buy good ones. The margin of error in switching to the 31x10.5 from a 265 is almost nothing. The 31x10.5 was the factory optional size back when 15's were standard.

33's won't fit without rubbing unless you lift the front end.
