BTW if i happen to have to use the torch do i heat up the bolts directly or do i heat up the block around the bolts ??

With a map gas torch you're not going to heat the block enough to do anything. And the bolt will heat up with the block anyway. That won't accomplish any more than running the engine an hour, which obviously doesn't help.

By heating the bolt quickly (and not the block), it will expand without expanding the block. That expansion will cause the bolt to shift very slightly inside the threads. That's what you're trying to accomplish - make just one piece change its size.


BTW, WD-40 is good for its intended purpose. It was developed for (W) water (D) displacement. So if your locks are getting moisture in them and freezing in the winter, its hard to beat. It makes an ok lubricant, but not a great one.

I have heard that transmission fluid makes a good penetrant also, tho I have not tried it myself yet. PB Blaster is good through experience.

PB Blaster or Mopar Heat Riser Solvent are good ones that are easily found/available but if you can find it Kroil is the best!
