Default new HID Conversion sucks

97 Dodge Dakota with stock headlamps .not discolored. have been replaced with OEM replacements 3 years ago. Got a HID 6000k bi xenon 9007 HID conversion kit. used the slim ballast with relays. the light output just sucks, is it the style of lens because its not clear??? on high beam its pretty much useless? they look bright looking at them but driving down the road they are terrible. any ideas? sorry i am new to HID's and thought this was a good setup for my truck to see better at night. any help would be great. i thank you in advance!

Yep. Need clears or projectors to get full light output out of them.

The stock fogged lenses diffuse the light, making it ruin the eyes of oncoming traffic and help you none.

What kind of kit did you buy? I have 55watt 6k and I love them even in my stock housings they were bright as hell!

Low beams and fogs(stock lenses that were yellowed)

A lot of those ebay kits are junk. 35 watt isnt going to be as bright as the 55 watt either. I never adjusted my stock lenses when I put my hid's in.

Only in fog lights. I have been running my 55s for over a year now and didnt do anything to them. 8,000k wont make it any brighter it will actually be not as bright. 6,000 k is the whitest light you can get there for they are the brightest of them all.
